Hope in the Darkness | Pastor Neville McDonald

Updated: Aug 12, 2020

There are times when you can feel a tangible sense of hopelessness engulfing the city, a sense that the sun will not rise again, a sense that the witchcraft over this city will never be broken, that our streets will never be cleaned up from the crime and the senseless murders that are taking place that are taking away our loved ones and those who provide food for us.

I stand at the edge of the ocean, the waves are raging, the clouds are dark, the wind is brisk and lightning is evident on the horizon. A storm is coming and the darkness seems overwhelming.

In this moment, we have a choice. Will we allow the darkness to overwhelm us and take us to a place of hopelessness, or will we reach out to God and trust that He is up to something.

They enemy would like nothing more than to keep us in a place of darkness, confusion, sadness, offence.... pain.

This is your moment to choose. What do you want your life to be? God places the power in your hands when He says, "I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live!" (Deut. 30:19)

We may not see an answer yet. It may still be just as dark, but as we reach out to God, we can be assured that He is our mighty warrior and He will prevail.

God doesn't keep all the power to Himself, but continually empowers us to experience victory through Him. We can see change in our lives, families, cities and nation!

As you pray, as you fast and as you give you can expect change for the better.

(Matthew 6:5-18)

Stand with the truth of God's Word and even in the darkness you will begin

to see a change!

Let's agree in prayer, concerning your situation and let's stand together for this great nation. Your prayers have power! The Word says, the prayers of the righteous has great power and will prevail. (James 5:16)

I believe that this is a sign from heaven that God is not only sending his lighting in the natural but He is also sending the lighting of the spirit to enlighten people in dark places, to bring light into the darkness, to give hope to the hopeless and bring healing.

His light breaks the darkness and the darkness cannot win!

This city will be the epicentre of the presence of the most high God and the centre of a move of the Spirit and it all starts with you and me. Make a decision today, come out of the shadow of your situation and let there be a revival in your heart as you step into His light.

"His lightnings lit up the world; The earth saw and trembled." Psalm 97:4
